 Alexandre Sterzel travaille à capturer et à faire des associations avec la vie courante. Nous voyons des figures humaines des fantaisie comme des anges, des gnomes, des fantômes. Il semble que l'artiste a capturé des ordres de rêves.

Fades colors to suggest a timeless atmosphere, sepia and bronze to enhance the ambiance of a dense and out of reach matter, portraits so close to reality and yet so ambiguous, displayed or implicit symbols like a conceptual putting in parenthesis of a verbal and visual blindness, some more society fetishism as well to find surer but nonetheless less frequented paths.

Lo que es diferente, puede excitar, lo que desconocemos da miedo. Pero también puede estimular y resultar
curioso. El mundo que tiene la fotografía de Alexander Sterzels es el lado "oscuro del erotismo". La posición del ser humano es central. Una fusión de todos los sentidos humanos, el espíritu y el cuerpo.

Ho guardato con fascino e inquietudine una serie eseguita da questo artista tedesco. Alexander Sterzel è un artista a tutto tondo, disegna, fotografa, si occupa di musica e molto altro ancora.
Tra i vari lavori proposti mi soffermo in modo particolare su una serie intitolata “Installed Truths”, dove utilizza dei ritratti d’epoca come base per i suoi interventi.
Egli infatti sfrutta queste immagini per eseguire delle illustrazioni e dei piccoli interventi sopra di essi, stravolgendo il significato e la resa estetica di queste fotografie.

Alexander Sterzel is an enigmatic collagist, photographer, and painter. His site is great fun to visit. His energy and good humor are contagious. When I was in London last year, and psychotically homesick, Alexander was so friendly and kind he made me feel much better when he was around. I love his work too and his darkly funny take on things.
